News and observations through the eyes of Livnot U’Lehibanot, a community service program which serves residents of Tzfat and the surrounding communities.
Today marks the end of the third week of the present "Katyusha War". During this time, while our hearts have been aching for the families of the soldiers who have been taken captive, killed and wounded, and for the people who were injured and killed by the Katyushas fired on our towns and cities, we, citizens of the North, have had to wage a different sort of war.
Many residents of the North have left their homes to find safety in the south of the country. Many others have been unable or unwilling to leave, and have been living through these past weeks in shelters and homes vulnerable to katyusha attacks, which come throughout the day and night.
This blog was set up to try to collect, in one comprehensive on-line site, the feelings and experiences of the residents of one Northern city, Tzfat, together with the experiences of an exceptional cadre of volunteers, who go out to the apartments and shelters in the city to offer assistance and company to the residents who live here.
